A Call To Oneness Purpose
In creating a moral climate, we hope to reclaim through the vehicle of reconciliation, respect for each other and the sanctity of life.
When you lead the nation in homicides, you don’t have many options in terms of thinking about doing something. The weekend of Oneness and Reconciliation is planned for Friday, May 30th Saturday, May, 31st and Sunday, June 1st.
May 30 – A State of Emergency Panel Discussion The panel will consist of a variety of disciplines that reflect the many shades of blackness. We’re looking for unity not uniformity.
May 31 – Day of Information and Implementation Classes will be taught in several churches and other venues all over the city that ask the question, “How do we address the moral issues and concerns that face black men in our community”?
June 1 – Day of Worship, Witness and Reconciliation
• Worship - Wherever you are comfortable
• Witness – From 12:00 – 2:00 pm, meet at the Roberts Building, better known as the Sears Building, on Kings highway and March through the city using the old May Day Parade route (Roberts Building, ending at Sumner High School/Tandy Park)
• Reconciliation – Sumner High School/Tandy Park serves as the venue for the speeches and platform for reconciliation. Here we will own all that we have not been – to disown it. And then, own all that we can become
This event that took place in St. Louis, Mo in effort to spread the awareness of rising crime. It was headed by Christian Pastors and Muslim leaders. The event started with a peaceful but meaningful march that started at the Robert’s Building and ended at Sumner High School. It was followed up by a count of the cities homicides which is a frightening number and speeches about unity and oneness. As of date, there has been over 75 homicides committed here in Stylus, Mo. The challenge now is to figure out ways to reach the streets and raise awareness about these stats and come up with solutions to slow this mess down. This month I am adding on to my 60% complete photo studio and working on a new book that will present poetry,short stories and of course photos that relate to those stories. The book will be narrated by myself and the stories will be spoken by the person I photograph. I haven't shot that much this month because I've been focused on setting prices, work flows,classes and studying about Flash meters and lighting. That about wraps it up for this month....Peace
